In a statement issued on Thursday, the IRGC Ground Force's Quds Base said the operatives had formed armed cells to sow insecurity and carry out various sabotage operations.
It added that the detainees were involved in kidnapping personnel and engineers working on infrastructure projects in Sistan and Baluchestan, attacking military and law enforcement patrols and facilities, conducting armed robberies and spreading fear in central parts of the province.
They were identified and detained through several special intelligence operations, it noted.
According to the statement, a cache of weapons and ammunition was seized from the outlaws.
It said the detainees had targeted military and police facilities as well as companies and personnel involved in development activities in the province.
The statement further noted that the outlaws coordinated with terrorist groups to abduct prominent individuals and engineers involved in construction and infrastructure projects before handing the hostages over to terrorist groups operating across the border.
Iranian security forces have taken numerous measures to maintain security and stability in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, which borders Pakistan and Afghanistan, and has seen several terrorist attacks targeting both civilians and security forces over the past years.
Terrorist groups carrying out attacks against Iranian interests in the southeastern and southwestern parts of the country are believed to be linked to foreign spy agencies.
Iran's security forces in April dismantled an operational team belonging to the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group in the border county of Rask, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, killing several terrorists.
Jaish al-Adl terrorist group has claimed responsibility for past attacks on Iranian civilians and security forces.
