Second International Conference on Iranian–Islamic Civilization calls for articles

Iran’s Cultural Center in Austria has issued an official call for papers for the Second International Conference on Iranian–Islamic Civilization, with a focus on the “Women's Agency in Iranian civilization.”

The event will take place on January 31, 2027, in a hybrid format, with sessions in Vienna, Tehran, and also online, and invites submissions from scholars, researchers, and postgraduate students worldwide.

Its second edition offers a documented, interdisciplinary view of women’s contributions to Iranian civilization, with themes spanning governance, cultural memory, science, health, and spirituality.

The conference follows the success of its first edition, held in February 2026 in Vienna, which brought together university professors, Iranologists, and researchers from various countries.

During that first edition, participants explored themes such as cultural identity, Persian language and literature, heritage studies, philosophy, arts, medicine, science, spirituality, and the future of Iranology.
