Nournews: The latest monthly report released by the OPEC Secretariat shows that Iran maintained its position as OPEC's second-largest oil producer in June after increasing its crude oil output.
According to OPEC data based on secondary sources, total crude oil production by OPEC member states reached 22.2 million barrels per day in June, an increase of 305,000 barrels per day compared with the previous month.
The report says Iran's oil production increased by 155,000 barrels per day, rising to 2.441 million barrels per day in June from 2.286 million barrels per day in May.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia remained the largest oil producer in OPEC, with an average output of 6.847 million barrels per day.
Oil production by OPEC+ countries reached 36.278 million barrels per day in June, up by 200,999 barrels per day from the previous month.
The OPEC monthly report also shows a decline in the price of heavy crude oil. According to the report, the price of Iran's heavy crude fell by 24 cents in June to $90.77 per barrel, compared with the previous month.
