Over 32K tourists visit Iran’s Takht-e Soleyman World Heritage Site

More than 32,000 domestic and foreign tourists have visited the Takht-e Soleyman World Heritage Site in northwestern Iran since March 21, 2026, the director of the site has announced.

Afrasiab Garavand said on Wednesday that over 65,000 people toured the site from March 21, 2025, to March 21, 2026, including around 250 foreign visitors, noting that the steady flow of tourists reflects the enduring appeal of Iran’s historical heritage throughout the year.

Located near Takab, a town in the northwestern province of West Azerbaijan, the ancient complex is one of Iran’s most important archaeological landscapes and a major destination for cultural tourism.

Takht-e Soleyman was inscribed on the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List in 2003.
