Nournews: Brigadier General Seyed Majid Ibn al-Reza, Acting Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, addressed senior officials of the ministry and described the anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Mostafa Chamran on June 21 as a reminder of a school of thought founded on faith, rationality, and strategic struggle. Highlighting the distinguished role of this revered martyr in shaping the resistance movement, he stressed the continuation of Chamran’s path in strengthening the country’s defense power.
Referring to Martyr Chamran’s unique role in the formation of resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine and in confronting the occupation by the Zionist regime, he stated: “Chamran’s ideas transformed resistance from a temporary action into a comprehensive intellectual and operational framework, which today is recognized throughout the Islamic world as the concept of the Unity of Fronts and the Axis of Resistance.”
The Acting Minister of Defense stated that, thanks to the sacrifices of the nation’s honored martyrs, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran today possess extensive deterrent capabilities and indigenous capacities. He noted that this strength is the result of the clear path established by martyred commanders and defense ministers, including Martyrs Chamran, Fakouri, Namjou, Shamkhani, and Nasirzadeh, who laid the foundations of the country’s defense industry with a forward-looking vision.
Referring to security and operational developments in recent years—particularly the 12-day war, the Ramadan War, and more than 100 days of steadfast resistance by the people and armed forces against the combined threats of the American-Zionist coalition—he stated that these events demonstrated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ability to manage challenges intelligently and decisively. He added that Iran maintains the initiative in safeguarding national interests and regional security.
General Ibn al-Reza also pointed to the precise management and strong oversight exercised by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that this crucial global energy corridor remains under the supervision and stewardship of Iran’s powerful armed forces and serves as a clear symbol of the country’s authority, intelligence dominance, and strategic capabilities in the region.
Continuing his remarks, the Acting Minister of Defense stressed the importance of carrying forward the path of the martyrs. He stated: “Today, inspired by the spirit and anti-oppression legacy of the martyred leader of the Islamic Ummah and under the firm leadership of his worthy successor, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are at the highest level of readiness. Should any new act of provocation or miscalculation be committed by aggressors, they will face a response even harsher than before—a response that will leave them unsuccessful, disappointed, and regretful.”
Concluding his speech, General Ibn al-Reza described the legacy of the martyred defense ministers—from Martyr Chamran to Martyr Nasirzadeh—as a strategic asset for preserving and enhancing the country’s defense power. He affirmed that this path would continue with strength and determination until the achievement of sustainable security, the consolidation of active deterrence, and the protection of the homeland and the dignity of the Islamic Ummah.
General Ibn al-Reza also emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses both the readiness and capability to pursue negotiations and confrontation simultaneously. He stated that Iran is capable of responding in the field to any breach of commitments by the United States during negotiations. “For this reason,” he said, “throughout the negotiation process and during the 60-day period of understanding, we have maintained and strengthened our military posture in all areas, and we will continue to do so.”
