Nournews: Brigadier General Seyed Majid Ibn al-Reza, Acting Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a telephone conversation with Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s Minister of Defense. During the call, he expressed his condolences over the deaths of a number of Pakistani Army officers and soldiers in a helicopter crash and thanked the Government of Pakistan and its armed forces for their constructive stance and support for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Referring to the Pakistani Defense Minister’s positions on various occasions, particularly at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Defense Ministers’ Meeting, the Acting Defense Minister praised Islamabad’s support in condemning aggression against Iran and stated: “The government and people of Iran will never forget the kindness and solidarity shown by their friends during difficult times.”
He also thanked the Government of Pakistan, its people, and senior military officials for their statements, solidarity, and moral support regarding the war and aggression against Iran, describing Pakistan as a friendly and brotherly country that plays an important role in regional developments.
General Ibn al-Reza further expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Pakistani government and armed forces in the negotiation process and the signing of recent understandings. He stressed: “Despite signing the memorandum of understanding, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have never trusted an unreliable enemy, and any breach of the agreement’s provisions will be met with a severe and regret-inducing response.”
Referring to the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, and praising the Pakistani minister’s stance on regional developments, particularly regarding the oppressed Palestinian people, he stated: “The survival of this illegitimate regime, which represents absolute evil in the region and the world, depends on creating tensions and crises. Islamic countries must act with unity and cohesion to prevent the continuation of this trend.”
The Acting Defense Minister also recalled Iran’s proposal to establish a “Regional Security Belt of the Islamic World,” involving countries such as Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, and other Islamic nations, and announced Iran’s readiness to consult with regional countries on the initiative.
For his part, Pakistan’s Defense Minister praised the Iranian nation’s resistance against aggression, stating: “The people and armed forces of Iran stood firm against aggression with complete faith and conviction, like a rock. The nature and quality of this struggle will be recorded in history.”
He described relations between the two countries as brotherly and said: “The people of Pakistan feel a sense of brotherhood toward Iran. They always pray for the Iranian nation and take pride in its resistance and steadfastness.”
Welcoming Iran’s proposal, Khawaja Muhammad Asif expressed hope that, once regional conditions stabilize, a new chapter of bilateral cooperation would begin to advance regional security arrangements within the Islamic world, aimed at countering the aggression and expansionist ambitions of the Zionist regime and establishing lasting peace and security in the region.
The Pakistani Defense Minister also referred to the Zionist regime’s actions against the people of Gaza, describing the regime as a cancerous tumor in the region. He stated: “The crimes committed by this regime over the past three years exceed the total crimes committed worldwide during the same period.”
