In a statement issued on Thursday, Qalibaf said that the recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) is not the end of the road but merely the beginning of a difficult and complex struggle to fully secure Iran’s legitimate rights from a “covenant-breaking” adversary.
The MoU calls for a permanent end to hostilities across all fronts, the removal of the US naval blockade within 30 days, the restoration of commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a reconstruction plan worth at least $300 billion, and the lifting of US sanctions.
Under the MoU, the two sides have entered a 60-day negotiation period, with the goal of reaching a comprehensive final agreement. In-person negotiations are scheduled to begin on June 19 in Switzerland, with Pakistan and Qatar serving as mediators.

In the blessed presence of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei,
With greetings and condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of the Master of Martyrs (Imam Hussein, peace be upon him),
We are grateful for Your Excellency’s wise and path-clearing message. This message served as a roadmap that made it clearer than ever: with the finalization of this memorandum of understanding, we have only reached the beginning of a difficult and winding path.
We must now reclaim the rights of the Iranian nation and the Resistance from the treacherous enemy. Your message and the emphasis on fulfilling the specified conditions set forth in the memorandum of understanding have filled our hands even more to follow up on America's commitments.
We will make these orders of Your Excellency our goal and will not allow the other side to violate the rights of the Iranian people and the Resistance Front through reneging on commitments and bullying.
Based on the teachings of the Hosseini school and the life of our martyred Imam, I believe that the monotheistic front can never reconcile with the false front, and it is the duty of all of us to stand against the false front, and in this path, we consider diplomacy to be one of the fields of struggle for resistance.
Our real guarantee for implementing this understanding is not its written clauses, but our lives, which we hold in our open palms, and the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran, whose decisive strikes the American-Zionist enemy clearly experienced in the recent war.
As we demonstrated throughout previous negotiations, we are committed to steadfastly defending the set conditions, red lines, and the interests of the Iranian nation.
For us, negotiation is a continuation of struggle to obtain the rights of the Iranian people. Should the enemy pursue excessive demands, we have proven that our finger remains on the trigger, and we will not hesitate to deliver a crushing response, one the enemy has already tasted in the recent war.
In conclusion, I thank you for clarifying how to proceed on this dangerous and intricate negotiation path.
I hope this message unites all segments of society against the enemy to fully fulfill the conditions outlined in the understanding.
