Minab massacre survivor brings UN Council to 30-second silence

A survivor of the US-Israeli attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab has brought the UN Human Rights Council to a 30-second silence with a video message demanding accountability for the perpetrators.

During the UN Human Rights Council meeting on Thursday, a video message was presented by Fatemeh-Zahra Sheikhabadi, a student who survived the attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab.

In her message, she expressed her only wish as ‘to attend school and play with her friends,’ calling for the voices of the children to be heard and for the perpetrators of this incident to be held accountable.

Sheikhabadi recalled how her school was suddenly targeted, emphasizing that she had seen scenes no child should ever have to witness.

To honor the victims and survivors, and to highlight the importance of protecting the right to education and ensuring the safety of schools during times of war, attendees at the UN session observed a 30-second moment of silence.
