The ministry said in a Sunday statement that it had arrested four terrorists, one spy and dozens of members of sabotage networks seeking to foment riots on the streets during the days of the aggression on Iran.
It said the operations had taken place in three provinces, including in the province of Tehran, where the capital is located.
The statement said a spy directly reporting to an agent of the Israeli intelligence service based in London was arrested in the province of Ilam, located on the western border with Iraq.
The spy was planning to penetrate key government institutions and transfer sensitive information about the whereabouts of senior officials, it said.
Four members of a terrorist group operating in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, near the border with Pakistan, were also arrested before they could carry out operations against civilian institutions, the ministry said.
The terrorists had registered criminal records in the Iranian judicial system, including for plots related to attacks on foreign refugees based in the cities of Ghasr Ghand and Saravan in 2025, it said.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps contributed to the raids on the hideouts of the terrorists where they had kept nine Kalashnikovs and 2,000 bullets, it added.
The Iranian intelligence ministry said another major operation it had carried out during the days of the US-Israeli aggression led to the arrest of 126 saboteurs, including notorious gang leaders in the capital Tehran who were seeking to instigate riots during the days of the aggression.
The successful operations have come amid reports that the US and the Israeli regime had capitalized on potential riots that could weaken the Iranian government and security forces during the aggression.
US President Donald Trump and Israeli regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had repeatedly declared that a major aim of their aggression on Iran would be to help rioters topple the government.
