In a message sent on Wednesday, Araghchi described relations between Iran and Azerbaijan as being rooted in mutual respect and strengthened by deep historical, religious, and cultural ties shared by the two Muslim nations.
He added that the top officials of both countries have consistently worked to fulfill the aspirations of their peoples, contributing to the steady development and expansion of bilateral cooperation.
The Iranian foreign minister also noted that the positive trend in relations has continued to gain momentum, covering areas of common interest at the bilateral, regional, and international levels. He expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation between Tehran and Baku and voiced hope for further progress in the future.
Azerbaijan celebrates May 28 as Republic Day, marking the country’s independence and statehood. Following the restoration of its independence in 1991 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the occasion has remained an important national event.
