Nournews: The preliminary stage of the Volleyball Nations League 2026 (men’s competition) will be held from June 10 to July 19. The Iranian team will face its opponents in Brazil during Week 1, in France during Week 2, and in Serbia during Week 3.
The first group of Iran’s national volleyball team left Tehran for Brazil on Saturday morning (May 29) and arrived in Brasília at 10 PM local Tehran time. After a short rest, they will begin a one-week training camp ahead of the matches.
The second group of players, who were selected at the last minute and traveled to Brazil with a 24-hour delay, will join the camp tomorrow night.
Iran National Team Squad
Mortaza Sharifi (captain), Arshia Behnezhad, Omran Kokjeili, Ali Haji-Pour, Pouya Arya-Khajeh, Amir Mohammad Golzadeh, Pouria Hossein Khanzadeh, Mobin Nasri, Ali Haghparast, Amirhossein Esfandiar, Mohammad Vali-Zadeh, Youssef Kazemi, Seyed Isa Naseri, Armin Gholich-Niazi, Mohammadreza Hazrat-Pour, and Hossein Hajikalate are part of the squad for this camp and the first week of the competition.
The technical staff includes Abbas Norouzi (team manager), Roberto Piazza (head coach), Thomas Totolo, Rahman Mohammadi-Rad, and Ali Fattahi (assistant coaches), Gianni Rossi (strength & conditioning coach), Mohammad Amin Shakeri (analyst), Mehdi Ebarashi (doctor), Hossein Kord Firouzjayi (physiotherapist), and Sajjad Nouri (massage therapist).
