Iranian, Azerbaijani presidents emphasize deepening ties, cooperation

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have exchanged warm greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, reaffirming their commitment to expanding comprehensive bilateral relations.

In a phone conversation on Tuesday evening, both presidents highlighted the profound historical, cultural, and religious bonds between the two neighboring nations and emphasized the importance of constructive cooperation to achieve regional stability and sustainable development.

Pezeshkian also extended his congratulations to the government and people of Azerbaijan on the anniversary of their national independence.

He expressed gratitude for Baku’s constructive stance and support during the recent aggression against Iran, noting that lasting peace and security in the West Asia region can only be strengthened through active regional engagement and dialogue.

The Azerbaijani president congratulated the Iranian government and people on Eid al-Adha, wishing for continued peace and prosperity in Iran.

He characterized the relationship between Tehran and Baku as strategic, noting that the two countries have consistently stood by one another through various challenges.

Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s firm support for ending regional conflicts, stating that cooperation is the primary guarantor of stability.

The two sides also delved into key initiatives spanning economic cooperation, transit corridors, and cultural exchange. They underscored the necessity of accelerating the implementation of existing agreements to elevate the level of bilateral ties.
