Speaking at a nationwide meeting of provincial officials from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts on Monday, Salehi-Amiri said the ministry had drafted executive plans for three possible situations of “continuation of war,” “no war and no peace,” and “return to stability and lasting calm.”
The United States and Israel launched an unprovoked war against Iran on February 28 but were forced to ask for a ceasefire thanks to the Iranian Armed Forces’ firm response. The US also unilaterally extended a two-week ceasefire reached between Tehran and Washington.
“The ministry firmly believes that Iran’s tourism industry in the post-war period will witness a significant leap and remarkable growth,” Salehi-Amiri said, adding that nations and public opinion around the world are eager “to closely observe and experience the real Iran, its civilizational capacities, and the reality of Iranian society after the war.”
Salehi-Amiri described tourism as a strategic sector during the reconstruction period and said preparations were already underway to adapt to changing conditions.
He also announced that museums across the country are fully prepared to reopen shortly after security authorities give approval.
