The occupations and crimes of the Zionist regime, carried out with the support and backing of the United States, have sparked a wave of global revulsion, even as Hebrew-language media report that a bill is being examined in a ministerial committee of the Zionist regime. The bill, introduced by the deputy speaker of the Knesset, aims to repeal the Oslo Accord. The proponents of this bill claim that the Oslo Accord "brought terrorism instead of peace."
Channel 12 Hebrew reported that the Israeli ministerial committee on legislation will examine a bill aimed at repealing the Oslo Accord, an agreement signed in 1993 with the Palestine Liberation Organization. "Limor Son Har Melech," the deputy speaker of the Knesset, wrote on X: "We promised to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state, and now the time has come to strengthen settlement in Areas A and B and to repeal the ill-fated Oslo Accord."
This move by the Zionists, beyond being a step toward intensifying occupation and justifying the regime’s crimes in the region, as well as covering up its repeated defeats, especially in the Ramadan War, is rooted, on one hand, in the unilateral and self-serving behavior of the United States as the primary patron and model for this regime in violating international laws and commitments. On the other hand, it once again reveals the threat that the Zionist regime poses to regional and global security and the necessity of a comprehensive response to it.
Oslo Accord: An Agreement Never Meant to Be Implemented
The Oslo Accord, engineered by the United States in 1993 between the Zionist regime and the Palestinian Authority, and accompanied by an extensive media campaign, has never been implemented by the American-Zionist side to this day. Contrary to the commitments made regarding the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, not only has that goal not been achieved, but the Zionist regime has intensified its occupation of the West Bank and Jerusalem through the expansion of settlements and the continuation of genocide in Gaza, to the extent that Benjamin Netanyahu has blatantly displayed a map of the region without Palestine.
Accordingly, it can be said that this recent alleged move is nothing but a flight forward to cover up decades of occupation and justify the escalation of this process. In recent months, new settlement plans in the West Bank have been approved, and the occupation of Gaza has been pursued under the so-called "Yellow Line" project.
From this perspective, whether the Oslo Accord remains or is abolished has no real impact on the fate of Palestine, because the very nature of this regime is founded on occupation, repression, and genocide.
Ramadan War and Collapse of Netanyahu’s Equations
Netanyahu’s political record shows that to maintain power, he has pursued a policy of instigating wars from Gaza to Lebanon and Iran, with all these wars remaining open-ended and unresolved.
However, the Ramadan War, Iran’s surprises, and Hezbollah’s resilience have disrupted many of the Zionist regime’s calculations, to the point that intensifying occupation in the West Bank has become Netanyahu’s last tool to appease extremist domestic factions.
On the global stage, the growing acknowledgment of the failure of American and Zionist regime objectives in the Ramadan War, along with the condemnation of the regime’s policies, and even the referral of the settlement issue to the UN Security Council and the European Union, has rendered Netanyahu’s tactic ineffective as well.
Under such circumstances, it appears that Netanyahu, defeated both on the battlefield and in the court of public opinion, is seeking to launch a new game under the banner of withdrawing from international commitments, hoping that this might preserve his political life amid intense domestic protests.
United States: Architect of Breach of Commitments and Founder of Legal Chaos
The Zionist regime’s move to dismantle international commitments can be seen as influenced by the actions of the United States and Trump himself, a policy that, through violating treaties and disregarding international norms, has established a dangerous precedent in the global order.
Trump’s "America First" policy and Washington’s withdrawal from numerous international agreements and commitments have given the Zionist regime a false sense of confidence, a confidence whose outcome has been the continuation of occupation and disregard for global rules and norms.
This dangerous precedent, compounded by the silence of Western countries that claim to defend international law, including their inaction regarding the International Court of Justice’s rulings on punishing the leaders of the Zionist regime, as well as their neglect of warnings and reports from international organizations such as Amnesty International, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the UN Human Rights Council on the regime’s crimes, has paved the way for an escalation of the crisis and could seriously jeopardize the foundations of the global order.
Zionist Regime: A Persistent Threat to Regional and Global Security
Although the behavior of the Zionist regime and its supporters, particularly the United States, is more a product of their decline and successive defeats, especially in the Ramadan War, than a sign of strength, it does not change the core reality: they remain a threat to regional and global security.
This trend increasingly reveals the validity of Iran’s position that the Zionist regime and its backers pose a threat to the entire region and the international system, and it underscores the need to form a broad consensus to confront it.
The Ramadan War and the achievements resulting from the resilience of Iran and the Axis of Resistance have emerged as important factors in restraining the Zionist regime and its supporters. The acceptance of Iran’s terms and demands by the region and the world could complete this process.
At the same time, the breach of commitments by the United States and the Zionist regime highlights the necessity for Iran to continue its smart management of the Strait of Hormuz as a deterrent and effective element in regional security, because experience has shown that these regimes adhere to no principle or law and understand only the language of power.
