Statement by SNSC on Latest Developments in Negotiations to End Third Imposed War

NOURNEWS – The Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has issued a statement regarding the latest developments in negotiations aimed at ending the Third Imposed War.

The text of the statement is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Honorable and steadfast nation of Iran,

As previously communicated to the noble people of Iran in the earlier statement issued by the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, following the defeat of the aggressor enemies of our beloved Iran on the military battlefield, achieved through the historic and unparalleled resistance of our people and armed forces, messages and requests from the Americans for a ceasefire and negotiations to end the war they themselves had initiated began to emerge from the tenth day of the conflict.

On the fortieth day of the war, and following the official announcement by the President of the United States accepting Iran’s 10-point plan as the framework for negotiations to end the war, the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to enter into such negotiations in Islamabad, mediated by the friendly and brotherly country of Pakistan.

These negotiations lasted for 21 consecutive hours without interruption. The Iranian delegation, despite the peak level of distrust toward the United States, raised and pursued the demands of the Iranian people with seriousness and initiative.

Although the opposing side had accepted prior to the talks to operate within the framework of Iran’s 10-point plan, it introduced new and excessive demands during the negotiations. These were met with the firm stance of the Iranian delegation, leading the opposing side to recognize that the Islamic Republic of Iran, backed by the strength of its fighters on the battlefield and the resolve, honor, and vigilance of its people, would not retreat from its positions under any circumstances. Consequently, this round of negotiations concluded without a definitive outcome and was deferred to a later time, contingent upon the opposing side abandoning its excessive demands and aligning its expectations with the realities on the ground in the face of a victorious and dignified Iran.

In recent days, following the visit of the Commander of the Army of Pakistan to Tehran in his capacity as mediator and interlocutor, new proposals have been put forward by the Americans. The Islamic Republic of Iran is currently reviewing these proposals and has not yet issued a response.

We hereby inform our esteemed nation, the fighters on the frontlines, and the brave and resolute people present in cities and villages across the country that the Iranian negotiating team, relying on trust in Almighty God and backed by public support, unwavering determination, and the military strength of its combatants, has entered the arena of political struggle to consolidate the remarkable and historic victories of the Iranian nation in this unjust imposed war. It will not concede, retreat, or show leniency even to the slightest degree, and will exert all efforts to safeguard the interests of the Iranian nation and to honor the precious blood shed in defense of Iran’s independence, dignity, and pride, especially the pure blood of our dearly beloved leader.

One of the essential preconditions for Iran’s acceptance of a temporary ceasefire was a halt to hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon. However, the Zionist enemy violated this condition from the outset through brutal attacks against Lebanon and the heroic Hezbollah.

Following the insistence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Zionist regime agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon. It was also agreed that, provided the ceasefire is observed across all fronts by the opposing side, the Strait of Hormuz would be conditionally opened on a temporary basis, limited to the duration of the ceasefire, exclusively for the passage of commercial vessels, and not military ships or non-military vessels belonging to hostile countries. Such passage would be subject to monitoring and authorization by Iran’s armed forces and restricted to routes designated by Iran.

Given that a significant portion of the logistical supply of US military bases in the Persian Gulf region is conducted through maritime transit via the Strait of Hormuz, and that this constitutes a threat to the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Persian Gulf region, Iran is determined to maintain oversight and control over transit through the Strait of Hormuz until the definitive end of the war and the realization of lasting peace in the region.

This oversight will be implemented through the receipt of full information from transiting vessels, issuance of transit certification in accordance with the regulations announced by the Islamic Republic of Iran, and in proportion to wartime conditions, as well as the payment of fees related to the provision of security, safety, and environmental protection services, all within routes designated by Iran.

Furthermore, as long as the opposing side seeks to disrupt maritime traffic or employ measures such as a naval blockade, the Islamic Republic of Iran will regard such actions as violations of the ceasefire and will suspend the conditional and limited opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

In conclusion, the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, recalling the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, emphasizes that in order to fully consolidate the achievements on the military front and ensure success on the diplomatic front, the continued presence of the vigilant Iranian people in public arenas, the maintenance of full alertness on all fronts, and the preservation of national cohesion by officials, media, and political and social actors remain essential.
