Government Spokesperson: Attack on Hospital Constitutes a War Crime

The government spokesperson reported that 105,125 civilian units have been damaged since the beginning of the war, including 83,351 residential units and 39,508 commercial-residential units in Tehran. Additionally, 322 healthcare centers, 763 schools, and 55 libraries across 12 provinces have been affected.

Nournews: Fatemeh Mohajerani stated on Sunday, April 5, 2026, the 37th day of the imposed U.S.-Israeli war against the Iranian people, that in recent days, various centers have been attacked by the enemy, including universities and higher education institutions. According to the Minister of Science, 30 universities across the country have so far been targeted, highlighting the continued attack on knowledge, science, and research.

Referring to the responsibility and commitment of Iranian professors and scientists in advancing science and knowledge, she added that the attacks on the B-1 Bridge and the Plasma and Laser Research Institute reflect the enemy’s inability to tolerate Iran’s significant scientific and technological achievements.

The spokesperson expressed appreciation for professors and scientists who have linked science to industry, noting that the attack on Mahshahr Petrochemical Complex indicates Iran’s success in bridging science and industry. Unfortunately, this attack resulted in the martyrdom of five citizens and injuries to 170 others.

Mohajerani also mentioned the enemy’s indiscriminate attack on Delaram Sina Psychiatric Hospital, emphasizing that this constitutes a formal war crime. She stressed that targeting the care and resting places of psychiatric patients is unacceptable and a war crime.

She further referenced the attack on Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant premises, which led to the martyrdom of one security personnel, noting that the Atomic Energy Organization and Bushehr Governorate are continuously providing updates to ensure public psychological stability and maintain normal life alongside the ongoing war.

The government spokesperson emphasized that the Iranian public should remain vigilant and not be misled by false claims and news from the Israeli and U.S. regimes, which have repeatedly lied to the people. She urged citizens to rely on official sources, assuring that there is no one more concerned for the country and its people than the officials of the Islamic Republic.
