Statement by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the Martyrdom of Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in a statement, extended its congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, Commander of the IRGC Navy.

Nournews: The IRGC statement on the martyrdom of Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
“Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God; some of them have fulfilled their vow [through martyrdom], and some are still waiting, and they have never changed [their commitment].”

A man of God, a devoted fighter in the path of Allah, and a great hero of the “Third Sacred Defense,” after nearly half a century of tireless struggle, has joined the Master and Leader of Martyrs.

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, following severe blows inflicted on the enemy—resulting in the destruction of key facilities and infrastructure and the downing of a U.S. fighter jet—was engaged in organizing and strengthening forces, as well as reinforcing the defensive shield of islands and coastlines targeted by aggressors. He ultimately succumbed to the severity of his wounds and attained martyrdom.

Our nation has grown accustomed to such sacrifices and knows well that a front which did not falter with the passing of the most outstanding figures in human history and the greatest divine leaders, such as Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei, but rather continued its path with even greater strength, will likewise carry on resolutely with the martyrdom of its field commanders. As demonstrated in recent days, the fighters of the IRGC Navy, in the absence of this brave commander, have continued to deliver decisive blows and maintain firm leadership in the Strait of Hormuz.

This is a force whose record includes breaking the operations of superpowers escorting oil tankers with the most basic weapons and destroying several American warships during the eight-year Sacred Defense. Our people also remember with pride the capture of American and British marines and the seizure of enemy vessels. Every fighter among them is a Tangsiri, and in the days and months ahead, we will witness the remarkable feats they will accomplish.

We extend our congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of this brave and devoted soldier of the homeland—who revived the epics of Rais Ali Delvari—to the Commander-in-Chief, Ayatollah Khamenei, the noble people of Iran, and the courageous fighters of the naval forces of the IRGC and the Army. We also pledge, alongside the Iranian nation—who are these days and nights creating some of the greatest epics in history—that we will not rest until the complete defeat of the enemy and the liberation of al-Quds.
