In a message on Sunday, Aref wrote that Trump's threats to target Iranian power plants revealed the truth about his previous jestures towards Iranain nation to justify his country's aggression on Iran.
"Attacking the critical infrastructure of a nation is a direct threat to the people and a blatant violation of humanitarian principles and international law. Attacking Iran's infrastructure will create a widespread blackout in the region. The right to self-defense is reserved, and continuing on this path will hold those who threaten responsible for the consequences," the first vice president also said.
Meanwhile, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared that any strike on the country’s power plants would trigger immediate retaliation against energy and oil infrastructure across the region. He cautioned on X that such targets would be deemed legitimate and “irreversibly destroyed,” predicting a prolonged surge in oil prices.
