The vile attack against the Islamic Republic of Iran outrages the conscience of all the peoples of the world. The killing of His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, is shocking, and at the same time, the death of 170 young girls tears at the heart—killed in a place that should represent protection and the future. Bombing schools and hospitals, like the Gandhi Hospital in Tehran, is contrary not only to the international conventions of war but to humanity itself.
In these days of grief, I wish to convey my deepest solidarity to the Iranian people and to President Masoud Pezeshkian. The strength of your great people will defeat this vile attack and contribute to the building of a new world.
