Nournews: The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran released a statement concerning the targeting of the naval vessel Dena by a U.S. submarine in the international waters of the Indian Ocean.
The statement was issued following the attack on the vessel Dena and the martyrdom of its student cadets as a result of the strike by a United States submarine in the international waters of the Indian Ocean.

Yesterday, the world witnessed yet another crime against humanity committed by the terrorist army of the United States of America. The cowardly attack on the vessel Dena, nearly 2,000 miles away from the battlefield, and the killing of young cadets who were on a training mission and returning from the Milan 2026 Peace Exercise, demonstrated once again that global arrogance abides by none of the rules of international law.
In this brutal and inhumane assault, the United States Navy—hundreds of miles away from the war zone and without any prior warning—once again violated customary norms, humanitarian law, and international maritime regulations. By opening fire on the vessel Dena, it martyred a number of young student cadets, professors, commanders, and crew members of the ship who had been participating in the joint peace exercise in order to help ensure security and strengthen maritime diplomacy.
It is evident to the world that international organizations will fail to fulfill their duty to condemn the crimes of the Zionist-American regime across the globe, and through their meaningful silence they will legitimize the arrogance and crimes of hegemonic powers. Yet, without doubt, the blood of those dear young martyrs and ambassadors of the proud Islamic Iran will stir the conscience of humanity, deepen the hatred of free people around the world toward the “Great Satan,” and strengthen the resolve of the great Iranian nation and the fighters of Islam to avenge the pure blood of their comrades.
The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while congratulating and offering condolences for the martyrdom of the student cadets and brave sailors of the vessel Dena to the great Iranian nation and to the respected families of the honorable martyrs, strongly condemns this savage act. It assures the noble Iranian nation that the brave fighters of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran stand united and more determined than ever, and—by the grace of Almighty God—will make the American-Zionist enemies regret their actions.
