Nournews: Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, said that it is essential to halt all acts of war and military measures against Iran.
He also stressed that there are no signs or evidence suggesting that Iran is attempting to build a nuclear weapon or possesses a nuclear warhead.
He added, “There are confirmations from the International Atomic Energy Agency as well as from professional U.S. intelligence officers indicating that Iran has neither produced a nuclear weapon nor attempted to do so.”
Lavrov further stated that U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran must stop, adding that he does not expect sanctions to be imposed on the two governments as a result of these strikes.
He also declared that U.S. actions will not be limited to Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran.
Following talks with Erywan Yusof, Deputy Foreign Minister of Brunei, Lavrov told reporters: “Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, recently responded to a journalist’s question by stating that the United States would handle Iran in the same way it had previously said it would handle Venezuela. A similar plan is now being tested for Cuba. And this is likely not the end of the matter.”
The Russian Foreign Minister also said that dialogue between Russia and the United States continues at various levels and in different formats. He added that there is a need for comprehensive bilateral dialogue so that both sides can exchange views on how they perceive the world and the role they assign to others within it.
