On Saturday local time, citing an FBI official, CNN stated that the bureau's counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence units are operating at heightened readiness nationwide in the wake of U.S. military actions against Iran. According to the report, security protocols have been elevated for police departments and patrol operations, including in New York City.
CNN asserted that this enhanced security posture is intended to preempt potential violence on U.S. soil and aligns with standard procedures following major international developments, such as today's U.S. strikes on Iran.
Providing details about the Trump cabinet monitoring the situation from the White House Situation Room, the American network reported that U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem stated threats against the United States are being closely tracked following the attacks. Noem posted on the social media platform X: "I am in direct coordination with our federal intelligence and law enforcement partners and am carefully monitoring the situation to neutralize any potential threat to the homeland."
Citing a knowledgeable source, CNN added that Vice President JD Vance, alongside Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, were observing developments regarding the strikes on Iran from the Situation Room. According to this source, the officials joined a conference call with President Trump and his team at his Florida residence.
The aggressive U.S. and Zionist regime attacks on Iran—which commenced early February 28 and involved violations of Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, targeting military facilities, government institutions, and civilian infrastructure in Tehran and other provinces—have reportedly resulted in more than 200 martyrs to date. In defensive response, Iran has launched missile and drone strikes against occupied territories and U.S. military bases across multiple countries in the region.
Meanwhile, following Iran's retaliatory missile and drone operations targeting U.S. military installations in the region, the FBI has elevated its alert status. The Daily Mail quoted an FBI official stating that the bureau's counter-intelligence teams across the United States have been placed on high alert.
While the FBI has not specified the duration of this heightened alert level, Secretary Noem reaffirmed that she is coordinating directly with federal intelligence and law enforcement colleagues, and that efforts to monitor and neutralize any potential threats remain ongoing.
