RT reported, quoting informed sources in Iran’s Foreign Ministry, that the next round of Iran–US talks will take place Tuesday in Vienna.
The previous round of negotiations was held on February 6 in Muscat, indirectly and with Omani mediation. That session included an exchange of red lines and proposals, as well as discussions on how to proceed with the continuation of the talks.
RT’s claim regarding the timing and venue of the upcoming round comes as officials from both Iran and the United States described the last round as “good” and expressed willingness to continue the process.
Despite Washington’s insistence on negotiating issues beyond Iran’s peaceful nuclear program — including limits on its missile program and its regional role — Tehran has stressed that while it seeks to pursue diplomacy to resolve matters related to its nuclear program and the lifting of US sanctions, its defense capabilities are not subject to negotiation.
