“In view of security considerations and safeguarding the principle of surprise, we have currently stopped unveiling defense achievements,” Defense Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik told reporters on Monday on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the induction of a drone fleet of the Iranian Red Crescent Society for relief and rescue missions.
He stressed, however, that this does not mean a halt in operational deployment.
“In operations, offensive and defensive fields, today’s defense achievements have been and continue to be integrated into the country’s defense units, but we refrain from publicizing them,” he said.
Talaei-Nik also underlined the prominent role of artificial intelligence in advancing defense technology, noting that the Ministry of Defense is pursuing planned investment and development in this area.
“In the fields of microelectronics, artificial intelligence, cyber technologies, and other areas, we are following a planned path with the help of other institutions within short-term and mid-term programs,” he added.
Referring to drone-related cooperation, the spokesman said support will mainly include technical assistance, transfer of technical know-how and technology transfer, enabling drones to be used not only for military purposes but also in civilian sectors such as communications, data exchange, geospatial information, environmental fields, relief and rescue, and other areas requiring speed, geographical coverage and light aerial capabilities.
