The ambassador made the remarks at a UN Security Council meeting on the “Situation in the Middle East and Palestine,” held on Wednesday in New York City.
He said that innocent Iranian civilians and hundreds of security forces lost their lives during a three-day period from January 8 to 10 at the hands of armed terrorist groups directly backed by the United States and Israel.
Having failed to achieve its goals through the 12-day war of aggression in June 2025, the Israeli regime is now pursuing those same objectives through political destabilization, instigating internal unrest, and deliberately spreading chaos inside Iran, Iravani told the session.
He also said that Iran supports any credible and reliable initiative that would end the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, guarantee the full withdrawal of occupying forces, establish a permanent and unconditional ceasefire, ensure unhindered access to humanitarian aid, and revive the inherent rights of the Palestinian people.
