Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said peace and stability in its neighbor is vital for regional security, AP reported.
“As a neighbor, friendly and brotherly country, Pakistan wishes to see a peaceful, stable and prosperous Iran,” Andrabi told a weekly news briefing.
He said that recent protests were driven by economic difficulties faced by ordinary citizens and worsened by international sanctions.
Andrabi said Pakistan hopes that financial support measures announced by the Iranian government will ease hardships.
Describing Iran as a resilient nation, the spokesman said Pakistan remains confident it will overcome the challenges.
