Foreign powers to fail intervening in states' internal issues

Iranian Government Spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani says that foreign powers will be the first victims of intervention in the internal developments of other countries.

In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Iranian Government Spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani spoke about the recent developments surrounding Venezuela and US president's approach in ignoring the South American country's opposition leader.

She stressed that recent developments in Venezuela, once again revealed this fact that foreign powers, including the United States, adopt a strategy based on temporary interests and political calculations toward the opposition leaders in different parts of the world.

The official statements made by American officials regarding the succession issue in Venezuela and their clear distancing from certain opposition figures is an example of this approach, she added.

"This experience, has a clear message for the currents who imagine that they can change the path of internal developments of the countries through relying on external support, foreign pressure, and extra-regional powers' interference," Mohajerani underlined, adding that the regional and global contemporary history has proven that during such circumstances, the first victims will be the foreign powers.

Warning those who gamble on the return of failed dynasties, Mohajerani said that no instruction support or instuction can replace popular legitimacy and whoever ignores this fact, is doomed to failure.
