Iranians residing in Venezuela are doing well: FM Araghchi

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the Iranian embassy in Venezuela is operating normally, adding that the Iranian nationals residing in the Latin American country are doing well and have sent no reports of problems home.

Speaking after attending a session of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, Abbas Araghchi said to reporters that "Reviewing and examining current international developments and issues related to the US invasions and the illegal and unjust behavior of the United States towards the entire world were on the agenda of the session."

The top Iranian diplomat referred to the situation in Venezuela, saying that when US President Trump speaks of peace in the language of force, he is actually speaking of the law of the jungle, meaning that whoever has more power can do whatever he wants

He said, "This is a new phenomenon that has forced almost all countries and international relations thinkers to pay attention to the issue and consider it a problem."

"Also, in today's meeting with lawmakers, the latest situation in Venezuela and what happened was reviewed, the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Venezuela is still operating and our ambassador and colleagues are busy with their activities; accordingly, the situation is regularly monitored and the situation of Iranian nationals in this country is reported. Their situation is completely good and no problems have been reported, and preparations have been made for any situation."
