Iran has firmly rejected reports alleging the withdrawal of Iranian diplomats and companies from Venezuela, describing the claims as entirely unfounded.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday morning, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that Iran’s ambassador and embassy staff in Venezuela are actively and seriously carrying out their duties. “Our embassy is highly active,” he stated.
Addressing reports about the departure of an Iranian company, Baghaei said the claim is based on outdated information, noting that the original report dates back to one year ago and has since been distorted.
Commenting on developments in Venezuela, the spokesperson said the situation has become a matter of global concern, describing it as a test for the international normative system.
He criticized actions taken by the United States in the Caribbean, saying they contradict international norms. Baghaei added that US officials have openly stated that they are pursuing Venezuela’s oil.
