Speaking in a meeting with the newly-appointed ambassador of Iran to Georgia in Tehran on Monday, Pezeshkian stressed the need to promote the interaction between Tehran and Tbilisi on developing transit-economic cooperation and strengthening bilateral dialogues.
He pointed to the strategic role of the Caucasus in new regional and international developments, noting, “In the contemporary world of today, this region is one of the important communications routes connecting Asia and Europe.”
Pezeshkian emphasized the necessity of promoting the cooperation and interatom with the countries of this region including Georgia.
He pointed to the deep historical and cultural relations between Iran and Georgia and termed these ties as a part of interaction of nations and a valuable asset for expanding sustainable cooperation.
Newly-appointed Ambassador of Iran to Georgia Ali Moojani, for his part, expounded on the goals, plans and priorities in this mission, stressing that he will make his utmost effort to enhance the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Caucasus region and expand friendly relations with this country.
