Tel Aviv warns US CENTCOM over Iran’s missile movements

A US media outlet reports that Israel’s army chief has warned the US Central Command (CENTCOM) that Iran’s recent missile activity could be used as cover for a surprise attack.

According to Mehr News Agency, citing Axios, the chief of staff of the Israeli army has cautioned the US Central Command that Iran’s latest missile drill may serve as a smokescreen for a potential surprise strike.

During a direct exchange with CENTCOM, the Israeli military chief stressed the need for close coordination with the US armed forces to prepare for possible scenarios linked to Iran’s missile activities.

The report adds that the commander of CENTCOM traveled to Tel Aviv on Sunday, where he held meetings with Israel’s army chief and several senior military officials. The talks focused on recent security developments and the broader regional situation.

At the same time, American sources said US intelligence agencies currently see no indications of an imminent Iranian attack, claiming that recent missile movements are being closely monitored.

According to the report, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also expected to raise concerns about Iran’s missile capabilities and the possibility of military action against Tehran during an upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Following the recent unprecedented direct confrontation between Iran and Israel, security alert levels in Tel Aviv and Washington have been raised, with intensified military consultations now underway between the two sides.

While Israeli officials are seeking to highlight Iran’s defensive and deterrent missile activities to secure stronger US backing for increased pressure, Washington has so far adopted a cautious approach and has shown reluctance toward entering a large-scale direct conflict with Iran.
