The Ministry made the remarks on its official account on X on Thursday.
It wrote that military aggression against Iran, complicity with the genocidal regime of Israel in the killing of Iranian citizens, the imposition of illegal sanctions, and the abuse of the privilege of hosting the United Nations are all of the same nature, which is nothing but the US’s blatant disregard for moral and humanitarian principles, international law, and the UN Charter.
This statement followed the continuation of US unlawful actions exerting pressure on the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New York.
The Ministry added that the US State Department’s attempt to cover up these violations under the hypocritical guise of concern for the Iranian people is deceitful and despicable. It emphasized that the illegal sanctions against the Iranian people and the unlawful restrictions imposed on their representatives at the United Nations directly violate fundamental human rights and diplomatic norms.
The statement further noted that this behavior demonstrates the misuse of the UN hosting position as a tool of bullying foreign policy, aimed at intimidating member states through harassment of their representatives.
It concluded by stressing that observance of UN hosting obligations is not a favor, but a binding legal duty under the 1946 Headquarters Agreement.
