Grossi: IAEA has not yet visited Iran’s damaged nuclear facilities

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), announced on Tuesday that the agency’s inspectors have not gained access to three major Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo—sites that were damaged in the June attacks.

In an interview with an Austrian newspaper, Grossi said that while IAEA inspectors remain in Iran, inspections have been halted due to security concerns following the June military strikes.

“Major facilities have been seriously affected, and inspections were not possible. Iran limited its level of cooperation with the agency after the attacks,” Grossi said.

He added, “We sought dialogue, negotiations were held in Cairo, and we reached an agreement. Our inspectors visited undamaged facilities, but they still do not have access to Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo, which were attacked.”

Iran has stated that due to environmental risks resulting from the United States’ and Israel’s illegal attacks on its nuclear facilities, a new mechanism must be implemented.
