The vice president said on Thursday that despite financial difficulties and external pressures, the process of building and advancing Iran continues.
He made these comments during a visit to the site of the construction project of the second lane of the Dalaki-Konartakhteh highway, located in the Bushehr-Shiraz route, one of the key national infrastructure projects.
Qaempanah explained that this project, which is crucial for enhancing safety, reducing fuel consumption, and improving connection between the littoral states of the Persian Gulf and the central regions of Iran, is proceeding despite the challenges posed by sanctions and financial constraints.
He added that this project is not just a new route, but a vital corridor that connects Bushehr Province to central Iran and ensures a sustainable link between the Persian Gulf and the country's interior.
The snapback mechanism refers to a provision in UN Security Council Resolution 2231 — the resolution that endorsed the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. The mechanism allows any participating state to unilaterally trigger the re-imposition of UN sanctions on Iran if it believes Iran is significantly violating the agreement. The snapback mechanism was triggered by Britain, France, and Germany in late August this year, resulting in re-imposition of sanctions as of late September. Iran has called their move illegal and strongly rejected allegations of violations of the nuclear deal.
