Iran’s FM Araghchi kicks off trip to Paris for talks with French counterpart

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has departed for Paris to hold talks with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Noel Barrot following his participation in the Thirtieth Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CSP-30) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Earlier on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei declared Araghchi’s visit to France at the invitation of his French counterpart.

During this trip to Paris, Araghchi is expected to discuss various bilateral issues, including the situation of Iranian citizen Mahdieh Esfandiari, as well as regional and international developments.

Baqaei also referred to Iran’s principled approach to international relations, which is based on mutual respect and seizing every opportunity to clearly express the Islamic Republic’s positions and demands, particularly concerning the ongoing crimes of the Israeli regime in Palestine and Lebanon, nuclear issues, and other significant international matters.

Throughout the discussions with the French side, Araghchi aims to clarify Iran’s stances and articulate the legitimate demands of the Iranian people, the spokesperson added.
