Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, responding to a question from IRNA, clarified on Monday that the president’s message was a routine communication strictly concerning the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
“As explained on several occasions, the content of the president’s letter to the Crown Prince was entirely related to Hajj and did not include any reference regarding negotiations,” Baqaei stated.
He emphasized that “insisting on publishing baseless speculation and raising allegations that have already been officially refuted serves no benefit to advancing national interests.”
He further urged analysts and political activists to prioritize the country’s higher interests over partisan agendas, keeping foreign policy discussions free from unfounded speculation.
President Pezeshkian’s written message was delivered to Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister by the head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization on November 18.
