Pezeshkian made the remarks during a phone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Friday.
Pezeshkian expressed hope that in the coming period, bilateral relations and cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad would expand and deepen further.
The president congratulated al-Sudani on his victory, emphasizing that the successful elections elevate the credibility and stature of the “brotherly Iraqi nation.”
In response, the Iraqi prime minister thanked President Pezeshkian for his call and fraternal congratulations, describing them as a testament to the depth of sincere ties and the attention of the Iranian people to Iraq’s prosperity and success.
