Iran’s deputy foreign minister highlights strategies to counter sanctions

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Hamid Ghanbari has emphasized that sanctions are not the end of the road, asserting that through diversifying routes, partners, and tools, the Islamic Republic can render these sanctions ineffective.

In an address at the 29th National Conference on Non-Oil Export Development in Tabriz on Thursday, the deputy minister described non-oil exports as crucial during times of pressure, noting that every Iranian truck crossing borders sends a clear message of the nation’s resilience.

He highlighted that exporters serve as silent ambassadors of Iran’s economy, with provinces like East Azarbaijan playing a pivotal role in economic diplomacy.

Ghanbari articulated that economic independence is not merely an abstract slogan but a pathway to national empowerment and stability against external pressures. He also underscored the importance of logistics in enhancing export competitiveness, advocating for the development of trade corridors to strengthen logistical capabilities in East Azarbaijan Province.

The official underlined that the future of Iran’s economy lies in the strategic export plans of its provinces, expressing confidence that with trust and cooperation, Iran’s export pathways, particularly through Tabriz, the capital city of East Azarbaijan Province, will flourish.

The conference concluded with an appreciation for top exporters, reinforcing the government's commitment to boosting non-oil exports.
