Pakistan holds high-level talks to expand economic cooperation with Iran

Pakistan has convened a high-level meeting with senior officials from key economic ministries to chart a course for expanded economic cooperation with neighboring Iran.

On Wednesday, the Public Relations Department of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement announcing a meeting held in Islamabad to review bilateral relations and further economic cooperation with Iran.

The meeting was chaired by Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and attended by senior officials from various ministries. Key participants included Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, as well as senior officials from the Ministries of Interior, Commerce, and Finance.

The statement emphasized that the meeting aimed to explore ways to enhance cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade sectors, between the two brotherly countries of Iran and Pakistan.
