Tehran, Islamabad discuss deepening bilateral cooperation

Senior officials from Iran and Pakistan have met in Tehran, focusing on plans to significantly strengthen bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and security sectors.

During a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday, Larijani emphasized the significant geopolitical positions of both Iran and Pakistan in regional equations.

He described a recent strategic pact between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as a wise and positive step in countering common threats.

Larijani noted that the region faces shared enemies and challenges, requiring tangible, comprehensive actions from Muslim nations.

He stressed the necessity of deepening cooperation in security, defense, political, and especially economic fields.

He appreciated the positions taken by the Pakistani government during the recent 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime against Iran, viewing it as a sign of a shared understanding of regional strategic realities.

Naqvi, for his part, highlighted the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and security ties between the two nations.

Both sides also exchanged views on the latest regional developments and agreed on the need for enhanced strategic coordination.

The two countries emphasized the importance of political and diplomatic solutions to resolve regional and security issues.
