Araghchi meets counterparts from Tunisia, Myanmar, Venezuela and Cuba

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has met his counterparts from Tunisia, Myanma, Venezuela and Cuba in Kampala, the capital of Uganda.

The separate meetings between Araghchi and his counterparts took place on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Kampala on Wednesday.

During his meeting with Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti, Araghchi discussed bilateral ties and regional developments.

They emphasized that resolving the Palestinian issue requires an end to the occupation and the realization of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

In a separate meeting, Araghchi and his Myanmarese counterpart, Than Swe, discussed bilateral relations and international developments.

The two sides emphasized the importance of identifying the potential for cooperation between the two countries in various economic and trade fields, and to this end, an agreement was reached on the exchange of diplomatic and economic delegations between the two countries.

Meantime, the foreign ministers of Iran and Venezuela discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between them in various economic, trade, scientific-educational, and cultural fields.

During a separate meeting, the foreign ministers of Iran and Cuba, while reviewing bilateral relations, exchanged views on ways to expand cooperation in various bilateral fields, as well as strengthen coordination at the level of international organizations.

Araghchi arrived in Kampala on Wednesday morning to attend the 19th Mid-Term Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The two-day meeting, held on Wednesday and Thursday under the chairmanship of Uganda’s foreign minister, brings together top diplomats and high-level delegations from NAM member states to discuss key international developments and cooperation among non-aligned countries.
