Vice president stresses need to eliminate anti-Iran sanctions

Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref has emphasized that the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian is committed to transforming the approach towards sanctions imposed by enemies.

Speaking at a national event to commemorate businesses in Tehran on Monday, Aref said that the administration aims to turn the act of evading sanctions into a complete removal of them, highlighting that despite the adversities posed by these sanctions, they have not defeated the nation.

Iranian officials hope that with national resolve and experience, they can eliminate these sanctions, he added.

Praising the performance of the business community during the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime, he said that one of the reasons for people's satisfaction with market management during the 12-day war was the performance of the businesses.

Aref also addressed the administration's role in supporting businesses, noting that such support is not a favor but a duty.

The presence of key ministers at this event reflects the administration's attention to this vital sector, he noted.

He further acknowledged the challenges faced by the economy, particularly in addressing informal market issues, but expressed optimism about overcoming them.

He underscored the importance of maintaining ethical standards in commerce, emphasizing that the market should ideally self-regulate.

The vice president also referred to the role of other sectors of the community, including academics, workers, farmers and clerics, emphasizing that all strata of society played a significant role during different arenas, particularly during the eight-year war imposed by the Iraqi Ba’ath regime.
