Kasbi developed an interest in theater as a teenager and began performing in local plays. Although he was initially admitted to medical school, his passion for the stage led him to pursue studies at the University of Art instead.
During his early career, Kasebi performed in several landmark productions in Iranian theater, including “Sing in the Fog” by Akbar Radi, “A Long Play” directed by Jafar Vali, “Medea” directed by Manijeh Mohamedi, and “The Best Father in the World” by Gholamhossein Saedi.
Following the Islamic Revolution, Kasebi continued his artistic activities and was among the founding members of Hozeh Honari, a major Iranian art and cultural organization. Later, he transitioned from stage to screen, appearing in numerous television series and films. His remarkable talent allowed him to perform effectively in both dramatic and comedic roles. With his expressive presence, he could make
audiences laugh even with serious dialogue in a comic setting.
Kasebi won the Crystal Simorgh Award for his performance in the film “Father” at Iran’s Fajr International Film Festival, one of the country’s most prestigious cinematic events.
In addition to acting, Kasebi was also a talented playwright and screenwriter, having written several plays and scripts throughout his career.
