Speaking on the sidelines of a program at the Iran Med 2025 exhibition, Dr. Ramazan Ahadi said radiopharmaceuticals play a crucial role in both diagnosing and treating various diseases.
“With minimal injection of radiopharmaceuticals, diagnostic accuracy improves while treatments become faster and less invasive, with fewer side effects,” he noted.
Dr. Ahadi highlighted that the use of radiopharmaceuticals is expanding globally and that Iran has successfully localized the production of many of these compounds. “Currently, around 400 medical centers across the country use domestically produced radiopharmaceuticals to treat a wide range of patients,” he added.
He emphasized that radiopharmaceuticals represent one of the most significant advancements in nuclear medicine, with their application growing rapidly worldwide.
