Hassan Salarieh, head of the Iranian Space Agency, stated on Saturday that Pars-2, unveiled last year, is undergoing final tests to ensure launch readiness.
He noted that following the launches of Pars-1 and Nahid-2, upgraded versions of these satellites are being prepared for future missions.
“The important point is the development of more accurate and advanced remote-sensing and communication satellites,” Salarieh said.
He also said that work on Pars-3, designed to provide imagery with a resolution of better than one meter, has been progressing well.
Meanwhile, a radar satellite, Rad-2, with 20-meter imaging capability, is also in the design phase, he said.
According to Salarieh, other launches, both domestic and international, are expected to continue this year.
He confirmed that another version of Nahid-2 is planned to be launched aboard the domestically developed Simorgh launcher.
In addition, suborbital and orbital test launches are scheduled for satellites belonging to the Shahid Soleimani constellation, as well as for other experimental payloads.
Salarieh emphasized that launch dates may vary due to technical considerations, but firm schedules will be announced once finalized.
