President Pezeshkian felicitates Saudi king, crown prince on National Day

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has extended his congratulations to the king, crown prince, and people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the kingdom’s National Day.

In separate messages sent to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday, Pezeshkian underscored a continued commitment to strengthening the restored ties between the two regional powers.

In his message to the Saudi king, Pezeshkian pointed to the deep historical and cultural ties between the nations, expressing hope that bilateral relations would continue to expand across various sectors.

“The many commonalities between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are a solid foundation for the friendship between the two Muslim nations and strengthen common bonds,” he noted.

In his message to the Crown Prince, Pezeshkian conveyed his hope that through joint efforts and the “maximum utilization of existing capacities,” the two countries would witness a significant expansion of cooperation in “all political, economic, and cultural fields.”

Saudi National Day is a public holiday in Saudi Arabia celebrated annually on September 23 to commemorate the proclamation that renamed the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932 through a royal decree by King Abdulaziz ibn Saud.
