Buin Zahra is a city in the southern part of Qazvin Province and serves as the capital of Buin Zahra County. The city lies on the vast Qazvin plain along the Qazvin–Hamedan road and, due to its geographical location, has historically been one of the region’s agricultural and environmental hubs.

Buin Zahra has a semi-arid climate, and a variety of crops such as wheat, barley, grapes, and pistachios are cultivated in its fertile plains. Local handicrafts, including carpet weaving and kilim weaving, are also common in the city and surrounding villages. In contemporary Iranian history, the city is particularly known for the devastating earthquake of 1962, which destroyed a large part of the region and cemented its name in the country’s historical memory.

Buin Zahra also hosts numerous historical and natural attractions, including:
