Speaking at a press conference in Tunisia, Araghchi described Israel as “the greatest threat to peace and security in the region,” and urged Islamic nations to take collective action in response.
“The threat posed by the Zionist regime requires a united decision,” he said, emphasizing the need for regional solidarity against what he called expansionist policies.
He also expressed gratitude to Tunisia for its firm stance in condemning the Israeli attack on Iran, praising the country’s “clear and resolute support for the Iranian people.”
Beyond regional security concerns, Araghchi highlighted progress in bilateral relations between Iran and Tunisia. He announced that both sides had reached promising agreements to expand cooperation in trade, healthcare, science, and culture.
One key outcome of Araghchi’s visit was an agreement to reconvene the Iran-Tunisia Joint Economic Commission in Tehran for the first time in over eleven years.
“We made important decisions today to advance our relations,” Araghchi said. “Increasing political exchanges and boosting tourism were among the priorities. The revival of the joint economic commission marks a new chapter in our partnership.”
