Trump and Fabricated Crisis Against Venezuela

NOURNEWS – Trump’s recent claim about destroying a Venezuelan boat carrying narcotics in international waters is not a genuine move against drug trafficking but rather part of his crisis-manufacturing strategy—a strategy aimed at covering up the domestic economic downturn, diverting public attention from the war in Gaza, and serving the U.S. unilateral order.

While Trump presents a military operation against a Venezuelan group as a security achievement, America’s internal reality tells a different story. Poll data show that Americans’ confidence in the country’s economic future has sunk to its lowest point in three decades. Declining public trust, mounting urban protests, and widespread dissatisfaction with the government’s economic policies expose a fragile image of the United States. Under such conditions, Trump resorts to external crises and flashy military displays to conceal domestic failures. This pattern recalls the long-standing tradition of American leaders in fabricating foreign enemies to shore up their shaky positions at home.

Contradictions in the Fight Against Drugs and Terrorism

Trump’s claim of countering drugs and terrorism from Venezuela stands in stark contrast with the U.S. record. Washington, which invaded Afghanistan under the pretext of fighting terrorism and narcotics, in practice triggered a surge in poppy cultivation there. At the same time, while speaking of Venezuelan traffickers, U.S. power structures themselves are deeply entangled with drug cartels and financial corruption. The imposition of heavy sanctions on Iran—a country at the forefront of the global fight against narcotics—further shows that Trump’s anti-trafficking rhetoric is nothing more than a political cover for America’s geopolitical goals. This duplicity has seriously undermined the moral legitimacy of Washington’s claims.

Military Displays and Strategic Failures

Trump’s foreign policy record demonstrates that his military power shows have brought more disgrace than real achievement. From the Yemen war and backing Israel against Iran to provoking Ukraine against Russia, each of these moves either ended in military deadlock or eroded America’s global credibility. In the Venezuela case too, Washington seems to be treading the same path—a costly move bound to meet resistance from Caracas and its international allies. The holding of large-scale military drills in Venezuela is a clear sign of preparedness against U.S. threats—threats that reveal not America’s strength but its weakness in managing international crises.

Serving Zionism Under the Cover of Anti-Trafficking

Trump’s recent moves against Venezuela cannot be analyzed separately from the Gaza war. Venezuela is one of the main supporters of Palestine, and America’s action against the country is intended as a warning to other governments backing the resistance. With such theatrics, Trump seeks to achieve two goals: first, to weaken the pro-Gaza front in Latin America; and second, to deflect global public opinion from the crimes committed by Israel in Gaza. Thus, the crisis-making in the Caribbean is not an operation against traffickers but a tool to support Israel’s policy of genocide—a policy that starkly reveals America’s true face with respect to human values and human rights.
