Pakistani minister says President Pezeshkian’s visit to Islamabad ‘significant’

Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has described the upcoming official visit of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian to Islamabad as a highly significant step in further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA on Friday, Tarar said that Tehran and Islamabad are key actors in maintaining peace and stability across the region.

He also said that President Pezeshkian’s official visit is an important milestone and a continuation of the positive momentum in diplomatic ties, which has been witnessed in recent months.

Iran and Pakistan enjoy excellent relations, which have been growing at the highest levels in the past months, Tarar said.

He added that both countries have also played a vital role in fostering regional stability, promoting joint cooperation, and advancing important initiatives across various sectors.

Referring to the late Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Pakistan last year, Tarar said that the foundation for stronger relations was laid during that trip, with commitments spanning trade, investment, and other shared areas of interest.

President Pezeshkian will travel to Pakistan on Saturday, August 2. The trip has been confirmed by the president’s political advisor Mehdi Sanaei.
